Along the way, stop at the park rangers’ headquarters to learn about their daily work protecting the fragile taiga ecosystem and its wildlife. Continue driving through increasingly remote landscapes toward the northernmost village accessible by road.
From the northern village, the road ends, beginning your journey on horseback, riding deep into the taiga forest toward the reindeer herders’ spring camp. The ride takes approximately half a day to a full day, depending on conditions. Upon arrival, be welcomed by the family and settle into camp.

Say goodbye to the family and begin riding back out of the taiga. From here, start driving south toward Khuvsgul Lake, where the scenery transitions from dense forest to wide-open landscapes.
Enjoy a full day at Khuvsgul Lake, often referred to as the “Mother Lake” of Mongolia. Visit the sacred Wish Rock, take gentle walks along the shoreline, and enjoy slow, unstructured time by the water. The evening is calm and reflective.
