This Snow Leopard Photography Group Tour takes you into the heart of the Gobi-Altai mountains. Home to Mongolia’s largest population of snow leopards, traveling here isn’t just your regular photo tour, it’s an adventure.

Centered on the search for the elusive snow leopard, this experience is designed for photographers of all experience levels. Whether you’re just beginning your photography journey, or you’re looking to capture the shot of your lifetime, this experience is geared towards you. Work directly with your expert-guide to hone your photography skills, edit each photo to perfection, and expand your field shooting knowledge.

For this group tour, you and the team will be based near a nomadic herder family’s winter camp. Days begin long before sunrise when you’ll head into the field in hopes of capturing a snow leopard returning from it’s nightly hunt. Cross high ridgelines and rugged terrain to set yourself up for the perfect viewing points.

The focus is not on chasing photos (although that is a big part of this photo tour), but it’s also on learning to read the land, understand movement, and work patiently within the natural rhythm of the mountains.

This is not an easy journey, nor is it a guaranteed one. It is a true field photography wildlife experience. This tour can be physically and mentally demanding with long days spent outside and in rustic conditions. Your reward is the rare opportunity to practice wildlife photography in one of the last remaining places where nature still sets the rules.

Highlights of this 11-day Snow Leopard Photography Group Tour in Mongolia includes:

  • A dedicated snow leopard photography experience in remote mountain terrain.
  • Guided by experienced local trackers and wildlife specialists.
