Spend 2 Days Exploring One of the Most Sacred Places in Mongolia

With this helicopter tour package, you’ll have the chance to explore one of the most sacred places in Mongolia, Burkhan Khaldun Mountain. Burkhan Khaldun Mountain is most often referred to as the birthplace, as well as the rumored burial place, of the world’s most famous Khaan.

Getting to Khaggin Khar Lake and Burkhan Khaldun Mountain is almost impossible during the summer months. It’s during this time the roads in these provinces turn into marshland.

That means that you can only reach Khaggin Khar Lake and Burkhan Khaldun Mountain by helicopter or horseback. Because of this, only a few people get to experience this sacred area every year.

While traditional customs prohibit women from climbing the mountain, there are plenty of other ways for all to enjoy this sacred and magnificent place.

Camp Next to Khagiin Khar Lake, One of the Most Beautiful Lakes in Mongolia

Trust us when we say that Khagiin Khar Lake, also called the Black Lake, is a sight to behold.

The freshwater lake is tucked beneath the Khentii Mountain range, and is surrounded by the Khiidiin Saridag, Khünkher, Asgat Saridag and Khölöriin Davaa mountains. The best time to visit the lake is June, July, and August, when the weather is warm and agreeable.

With crystal-clear waters and picturesque views, visitors can swim, fish, or simply relax on the shoreline.

Camping next to Khagiin Khar Lake is one of the best ways to truly immerse yourself in this tranquil environment.
